As well as the design of the Knowledge Organiser, how you use it is of critical importance. Just giving out a piece of paper to students is not really going to have much effect on the learning of the majority. It would be good to hear from experienced users of Knowledge Organisers, how they make them effective in the classroom.

I'm just exploring KOs, but it seems like it's key to use them for frequent and repeated low-stakes quizzing. The research says that it's the act of recall that makes the learning stick, and it takes repetition over time to beat the curve of forgetting.

Most welcome. I'd also love to hear from others who have other evidence-based research related to KOs.
