Viewing Downloaded Videos
« on: February 10, 2018, 08:24:27 AM »
If you want to watch videos that have been downloaded you need a video player on your computer. Often the files are in MP4 format but there are many other formats that they could be in. If you are lucky your computer will just play the video file. If you are not lucky, what do you do?

We recommend that you download VLC Media Player which is free software that will play practically any type of video file.

This video shows how to install and use VLC.

Knowledge Organisers Tip
If you want to run videos directly from a USB stick there is a standalone version of VLC called VLC Media Player Portable. This means you can carry your video files on a USB stick and play them on any Windows computer without knowing whether that computer has video playing software. All the software runs from the USB stick and no files are installed on the computer.
